While I love creating a variety of smoothie bowl recipes, I also think it is important to find a balance between sweet fruits and more grounding, alkalizing vegetables to keep you feeling balanced.

This smoothie bowl recipe is filled with vegetables and the best part is – you cannot even tell! Sweet potato, zucchini, peas and leafy greens ensure that you’re getting a great dose of vitamins and antioxidants into your day in an easy, quick and delicious way.

Fruit-loaded smoothies can send you on a blood-sugar roller coaster

While fruit-loaded smoothies can send you on a blood-sugar roller coaster, this healthy smoothie bowl ensures that your energy levels are sustained and that YOU feel sustained and nourished for longer, without any sugar crash!

If you want to keep the smoothie bowl entirely fruit-free, you can even omit the banana and berries and add a little stevia to sweeten it naturally without any fructose.

If you have fussy children, this healthy smoothie bowl is definitely a winner to get those daily veggies in!

This healthy smoothie bowl makes a delicious and unique breakfast, pre- or post-workout snack, or midday energizing pick-me-up. Get creative by adding different vegetables by season or flavor.

Pro Tip: During the summer months, it can be nice to chop up and freeze the vegetables in advance so that your smoothie is icy cold too!

One final tip for the sweet potato and pumpkin: I often steam a little extra in the evening when cooking dinner and then pop it in the fridge so it’s ready for my morning smoothie bowl. This will save a lot of time!
