YogaJournal Live Comes to Sunny Hollywood, Florida

A dream yoga weekend comes true!

What are two words that almost every yogi recognizes?

These two words symbolize an authority in the yoga community, an international yoga magazine, an online community, and epic yoga events that are put on nationwide.

The first word starts with a Y and the second word starts with a J.

The two words are Yoga Journal, aka the yoga mecca built on community, knowledgeable teachers, and credible information. Yoga Journal is the go-to source for all things yoga.

If you’re wondering who Yoga Journal is, then for the love of yoga please scan the grocery store magazine shelves, check them out online or even better – attend one of their amazing events!

That last statement is exactly what I intend to do this coming weekend: attend the YJ Live event in Hollywood, Florida. I’ll be rolling up my mat, packing my most awesome yoga leggings, and heading down to South Florida for a weekend of yoga festivities.

The event takes place over a 4-day period at the Diplomat Resort in Hollywood, FL and boasts big name yoga teachers like Seane Corn, Kathryn Budig, Tiffany Cruikshank, Sadie Nardinie, Jason Crandall, and more. It’s basically an opportunity to practice and learn from the best of the best – a rare moment for most yogis!

The 4-day event offers multiple ways to participate for yogis of any caliber and with any budget.

Here’s how it works…

YJ Live Yoga Event Must-Knows:

  • Kathryn Budig kicks off the event with an all-day training that focuses on her Aim True mantra. If you don’t follow this amazing and inspiring yogini, this is a great opportunity to meet her, practice alongside her, and benefit from her outlook on life. Kathryn is a true gem who inspires people every day with her authentic approach to yoga and life. She’s definitely a must-do if you’re attending!
  • All-day workshop trainings are held on Friday and Monday with world-renowned teachers like Seane Corne, Dharma Mittra, Tiffany Cruikshank, and more. This is a rare opportunity to dive into the practice, gain a ridiculous amount of knowledge, and meet fellow yogis in the community.
  • The main weekend event happens on Saturday and Sunday with classes starting at 8:30am and ending at 5:30pm. Yogis can preselect their chosen sessions and craft their own yoga event experience. The options are plentiful, making it challenging to choose just one per session. But no matter which you choose, you’re guaranteed to have a fun, memorable, and fulfilling experience.
  •  Saturday night will feature a soulful and enchanting concert from the Mayapuris. The group is well-known for their kirtan/chant music and is quickly becoming the most talked about group in this genre! The concert is on Saturday from 8-9:30 pm and is free for YJ Live attendees and only $10 at the door for general public.
  • The event venue will feature a yoga market with indie, artisanal, and national brands. While we yogis love to move our bodies, we also love us some good shopping. I’m super excited to browse this area!

Well friends, that’s a lot of information, and I didn’t even cover everything. For the full run-down on what’s happening in each moment, please check the YJ Live website. You can find everything your yoga heart desires there.
Lastly, let’s touch on the different attendance options because not all of us are able to spend the entire weekend moving and grooving on our yoga mats.

Attendance Must-Knows:

Yogis can purchase the following passes:

  • One day pass
  • Two day pass
  • Full event pass
  • 3-Class pass (limited quantities)
  • Single class pass (limited quantities)

And if you’re on a serious budget, you can enjoy the below activities for FREE:

  • Community classes held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Morning meditations, lectures, yoga demos, and happy hours.
  • The awesome yoga market where you’ll definitely find me!

If you live in the Florida area or anywhere that’s road trip worthy, I urge you to come play and participate in this upcoming event. Take advantage of the rare opportunity to bend and breathe next to a huge community of likeminded people!
