Libra, ruled by the element of air, seeks balance in all aspects of their lives. They’re social and easygoing, but selectively choose their company. With charming Libra, you may talk about Renaissance art one moment and extravagant ideas for the future the next.

With their interesting and complex nature, you’ll find Libra on once-in-a-lifetime adventures, like a jaunt through the Parisian catacombs. They’re generally unconcerned with activities they deem trivial, like amusement parks and carnivals.

There’s much to be discovered about Libra, so read on!

The Libra Zodiac Sign at a Glance

Born: September 23-October 22
Element: Air
Ruled by: Venus
Symbol: Scales
Best romantic matches: Aries, Sagittarius

Here are the three main characteristics of a Libra:

This article explores characteristics that define a Libra zodiac sign. Whether this sign belongs to you or not, this information will help you understand this airy sign a little better.

1. Libras are Conversationalists

Due to their insatiable hunger for knowledge, Libras are well read on a variety of subjects. They tend to drive conversations with their unique and dynamic perspective. Libra will leave you speechless . . . in a good way!

While Libra prefers to avoid conflict, they will stun their opponent with a few witty, cutting words when needed.

Libras are experts at creating bonds between strangers. How? Their charming personalities and exquisite tastes dazzle crowds into feeling they’ve known each other forever.

2. Libra is Balanced and Extremely Passionate

Libras are meticulous by default, and driven by passion. They do everything at 110%, so a task must be meaningful for them to even show a glimmer of interest. Libra notices the little things, and makes a point to express gratitude to those they deem deserving.

In a single conversation with Libra you could discuss music, art, film, politics, and religion, and only begin to scratch the surface. That being said, Libra will never use their wit to make anyone feel inferior (unless provoked, of course).

Their genuine, friendly personality makes Libra extremely likeable, and they are even known to sacrifice their own happiness for the sake of others. All this and more makes it exciting to have Libra as a friend.

3. Libra Loves Taking Care of People They Love

Libra takes the time to truly get to know you. They’re the type to surprise you with a gift you casually mentioned you were interested in two summers ago. They love decadence and going over-the-top for the people they care about, and they’re completely genuine about it. They find your faults endearing, and truly accept you for who you are.

Romantically, Libra wants to know if a relationship is going somewhere right away . . . before they invest their time. If they see the potential for a long-term relationship, a budding romance will slowly, meaningfully blossom into a relationship. When planning a date for Libra, opt to go somewhere low key where you both can talk at a normal volume.
