Product Review: The Montiel Teardrop Bra

Today, I have the pleasure of reviewing the Montiel Teardrop Bra. Montiel is a new activewear clothing line launched in 2013 by Maggie Montiel. If you haven’t heard of Montiel, I can guarantee that will soon change. The Montiel clothing line is gaining notoriety for its high standards—you’ll find the clothing to be visibly high quality—but without the high price. Montiel is a company that believes in making well-made clothing affordable—what a concept!! (The image below is me testing the bra in Sedona, AZ)

Style. The Teardrop Bra is one of my favorite sports bra designs out there. Have I mentioned that I’m in love with the design? It looks cute in photos, but it looks even better on. The best part is that it’s fashionable enough to be paired with any type of overshirt or outfit ensemble (yes, I’ve been wearing it beyond the yoga room).

Functionality. Its adorable double strap is designed to take the pressure off your shoulders, and definitely follows through on that promise! I have worn this bra to hot yoga, all day hiking in the hot sun, working out at the gym, and even going out on the town. Never once did my shoulders get tight or feel sore like I’ve experienced with so many other sports bras in the past. It comes with bra pads for an extra lift, but these are removable for those of you who don’t want (or need) this feature.

Durability. Above all else, I’d have to say my favorite part is the fabric. Made out of a 90/10 blend of Supplex and Lycra, this bra is so soft and figure-fitting, you’ll forget you even have it on (which is probably why I wear it EVERYWHERE!) The fabric is impressively sweat-wicking, and is durable enough to go in the washing machine. After multiple washings and countless wearings, it still looks and feels brand new.
