3 Grounding and Healing Crystals to Balance Vata Dosha

According to Ayurveda, we all have doshas, which are biological and subtle energies residing within the body-mind that govern all physical and mental characteristics.

These doshas are considered to give a person their unique constitution that is innate and does not change throughout a person’s life. However, they can fluctuate, which can cause an imbalance in your mind or body.

Once you find out your dosha, you can learn what kind of exercise, meditation, sleep patterns, healing crystals, pranayama practices, essential oils, colors, and environments are good for you along with things to avoid to help you lead a much more harmonious and balanced life.

Which Ayurvedic Dosha Are You? Take This Fun Dosha Quiz to Find Out!

In this article, we’ll focus on Vata dosha, and specifically, healing crystals for Vata dosha.

What Is Vata Dosha?

Vata translates to “that which moves things” and is often called the king of the doshas as it gives motion to Pitta and Kapha.

Similar to a soft breeze when in balance, Vata individuals have an active intellect, form creative ideas, and are very expressive and communicative.

People with dominant Vata are quick-witted, light, and spontaneous. Vata types tend to be lean with a delicate stature and small, expressive eyes.

When out of balance, their anger can be like that of a hurricane. Also, when imbalanced, Vata dosha is prone to anxiety and nervous energy, insomnia, and overthinking.

That energy can riddle their bodies with dry skin that is prone to early aging, wrinkles, brittle hair and nails, constipation, cold hands and feet, and weak circulation.

Because Vata types are very much in their minds, they need to pacify this by being brought back down to earth and back into their bodies.

Vata does not like cold, windy weather, loud noises, or feeling mentally spaced out. Vata is also prone to scattered emotions, stuttering, talking too fast, and excessive worrying.

Because Vata types are very much in their minds, they need to pacify this by being brought back down to earth and back into their bodies.

Healing crystals are fantastic for pacifying Vata because they need to feel grounded.

Here Are 3 Grounding and Healing Crystals for Vata Dosha:

1. Tree Agate

A very grounding stone that connects the body-mind to the earth and plant kingdom, tree agate brings inner peace, mental calm, patience, and a deep sense of inner stability and groundedness in all aspects of life.

Tree agate is also a great stone for meditation and prayer. This stone helps you center and reconnect with your body, the ground you walk on, and with Mother Nature.

Tree agate also reminds us to slow down, step away from mental stimulations, and simply calm the mind by a river or walk in the woods.

2. Moss Agate

Another earthy, grounding stone, moss agate brings emotional and mental stability and is especially helpful for those prone to mood swings and mental imbalances.

This is a wonderful stone to bring mental clarity because it reconnects you back to the earth element to bring a sense of calm and patience to a hectic mind.

Associated with both the Heart Chakra and Root Chakra, it aids in bringing balance back to the body-mind connection and regulates our interaction with the external world.

3. Apache Tear

Apache tear is able to move excess energy and prana down from the Crown Chakra to the Root Chakra and back into the earth in order to let go.

This healing crystal is very good for soothing mental and emotional trauma and protects you from dwelling on negative thoughts and feelings.

Known to absorb negative energy, Apache tear “cries” for you and helps release mental blockages. It gently cleanses your aura and allows for spaced out emotions and grief to flow. This crystal also aids to purify and ground the mind.

The Takeaway on Healing Crystals for Vata Dosha

This is just a small sample, and there are many more healing crystals and stones that can be incorporated into an Ayurvedic program to help pacify Vata dosha.

Steer clear of any man-made crystals as these types of crystals are usually created in labs and have a lower frequency.

As an overall guidance, look for healing crystals that support stability and groundedness for your Vata dosha to find overall balance and well-being.
