Let It Go – Release These 10 Things For a Happier Y-O-U

We tend to hold onto a lot of things. Then came Marie Kondo, and you quickly became inspired to clear out a lot of stuff just sitting and collecting dust in your closet. But what about the emotional baggage we cling to?

In yoga, we always talk about creating space – creating space in the body by gaining flexibility, and creating space in the mind for new ways of thinking and perceiving the world.

The same applies to what we want to release in our lives. When we are able to let things go, we create space for what we want to bring into our lives.

If you’re ready to let it go, create space, and attract what you want in your life, then read on for things you can release for a happier, healthier, more empowered Y-O-U!

Let It Go: 10 Things to Release For a Happier You:

When you’re considering what you need to let go of in your own life, think about negative habits, thought patterns, people or relationships . . .

1. Caring about what other people think

Seriously – how much energy would you save by letting go of worrying about what other people think or say about you? Will their opinions matter in a few days, weeks, years? No. They probably won’t. So why should they matter now? Let it go.

2. Drama

Toxic relationships, gossip, he said / she said, posting negative comments on social media . . . there are many forms of drama but they all lead to the same end – an energy suck and a lower vibration. Let that shit go – pronto.

3. Saying Yes to Things that Don’t Serve You

Remember how you let things go to create space for what you want? If something doesn’t benefit you, it’s taking up space from something that does benefit you. Exercise your no muscle and start living on your own terms.

4. Worry

Worrying is like praying for something bad to happen. Would you focus on bringing more negativity into your life? Nope – didn’t think so. Focus on what you do want to happen instead of worrying about what you don’t want to happen. Worry and stress – you need to let it go.

5. Neglecting Self-Care

From someone who habitually put self-care on the backburner until it caught up with her . . . don’t do it! You need to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone or anything else. Replace neglect with self-care for a happier, healthier you.

6. Lack of Gratitude

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. Don’t rob yourself of recognizing all the beauty and magic in your day-to-day life – these are the gifts that color our world! Release your ungrateful attitude to live a more fulfilled life.

7. High Standards For Yourself

Having high standards is awesome, but cut yourself some slack! You’re only human, you need rest, and you will make mistakes – these are all facts. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself! A more relaxed demeanor helps you accomplish more and enjoy the process along the way.

8. Fear

Fear is a big one, and you need to let it go. We all have fear, but we can’t let it hold us back. Stop shying away from what scares you! When you’re comfortable, you’re not growing. But when you take chances and challenge yourself to do things that intimidate you, you grow and flourish and thrive.

9. Your Addiction to Screens

Spending hours and hours staring at a screen and scrolling through social media feeds is draining for your eyes, your energy levels, and your sense of satisfaction in life. We all do it, but moderation is key.

Less time on the screen and more quality time with yourself or someone you love will bring you more peace, presence, and fulfillment.

10. Lack

Lack-based thinking keeps us boxed in with our limitations. Break free! View your world through a lens of abundance, gratitude, positivity, and infinite possibility. You create your reality – so will you choose to operate from a place of lack or abundance? Lack: let it go.

11. Toxic Products

There is too much information out there about the horrible health risks associated with toxic chemicals. Everything from beauty products (shampoo, makeup, nail polish) to the food we eat (preservatives, dyes, pesticides) and products we consume (yoga mats or water bottles with PVC, certain clothing fabrics and dyes).

This Is the Time to Release and Let Go For a Happier, Healthier YOU

What are you ready to let go of? What will you release to find a happier, healthier version of you? When we let go of what no longer serves us, we create space for all the good that we’re ready to bring into our lives.

It all begins with self-love. When you love yourself enough to let go of bad habits, negative people, and anything in your life that does not bring you good, you’ve already set things in motion for a better tomorrow.

We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to share something that you’ve committed to let go of and inspire others to do the same.
