Returning to Yoga Asanas During Cancer Treatment (Video Series)
This month, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, YouAligned™ has teamed up with Grokker.com to feature a 4-part video series called “Grit, Grace, and Gratitude” on yoga for cancer care. Please join us as we welcome Sierra Campbell, a yoga therapist and cancer survivor who offers helpful, compassionate guidance on your journey to cancer recovery using yoga. Sierra invites viewers to think of this practice as a way of tuning into – and gaining control over – your inner alchemy. In the name of Breast Cancer Awareness, and in the name of your health, let’s get started!
In the final video of the yoga for cancer care series, Sierra will guide you into a sequence of gentle yoga poses aimed at getting you back into your physical yoga practice. Once you’re ready to begin your practice again, it’s important to strengthen and work to increase your range of motion. Yet it’s also crucial that you focus on safety and take the necessary modifications your body needs to gently ease your way back into your yoga practice.
Sierra offers gentle, effective modifications for each of the foundational yoga poses you’ll explore. Take your time in finding the modifications that are right for you, and use this opportunity to cultivate a safe and nurturing physical practice that allows you to feel empowered and create more space within your body as well as your mind state. The physical practice of yoga has the power to uplift, inspire, and transform. Embark on this journey at your own pace, knowing that you are supported and doing good things for your mind and body.
YouAligned™ would like to thank Grokker.com and Sierra Campbell for providing an educational and compassionate yoga for cancer video series for Breast Cancer Awareness month. We hope that you enjoyed this series, and we invite you to share it with anyone you feel would benefit. The biggest takeaway from this yoga for cancer series is that you are not alone. We are all connected through our yoga community, and through that connection, we hope you find a sense of peace, comfort, and support.
