Product Review: YOGABODY Naturals Yoga Trapeze

When it comes to product reviews, we don’t mess around. All of the items we review are put through the ringer of everyday use. You can trust that our reviews are non-biased and completely honest. Full disclosure: we don’t publish negative reviews. If a product doesn’t live up to our standards, we simply won’t promote it. Everyone has their own opinion – this is ours. Let’s get started.

Whether you are a seasoned yogi or a brand new beginner, and whether you’ve tried every yoga discipline in the world, or tend to stick to your favorite type, we as yogis can agree on one thing: we love yoga! We love doing yoga. So when we hear about the latest yoga prop, newest yoga class, or even an entirely new way to practice, our ears are definitely perked . . .

We’ve all heard of Aerial Yoga, which is essentially a yoga class where you complete the poses suspended in mid-air. Sounds exciting, alluring, and magical, doesn’t it? Now imagine doing it in the comfort of your own home. Enter the Yoga Trapeze by YOGABODY Naturals. The Yoga Trapeze is a fun way to give your yoga practice wings, but it also offers amazing fitness and wellness benefits too.

We have tested the Yoga Trapeze, and are excited to share with you why we’ve given it our stamp of approval.

Here’s the scoop on what you need to know about the Yoga Trapeze by YOGABODY Naturals:

What is it?

Think traditional hammock meets Cirque du Soleil with the added therapeutic benefits of an inversion table. The traditional hammock aspect comprises the main piece of the trapeze, which is what you’ll sit on. Each side of the hammock has three straps: one long, one medium, and one short.

All of these components are attached to the pre-knotted slip-proof rope, which connects to high-quality metal hooks, which can then be mounted to your ceiling (there are several other mounting options too, from door frames to tree branches). It’s a simple yet effective design both in terms of assembly and installation, and also in terms of your experience using it.

What does it do?

The Yoga Trapeze is essentially an at-home suspension device that can be used therapeutically, as well as aerially for your yoga and fitness adventures. On the therapeutic side, the trapeze helps to lengthen and strengthen your spinal column top to bottom. How, you ask?

There are three specific and important ways the Yoga Trapeze works with your body: traction, back and core strengthening, and flexibility. Using your own body weight is the most effective – and safe – kind of traction you can do. Strengthening your core will in turn protect your back from injury, while strengthening your spine itself will help prevent future injury.

The same principle is true in flexibility – the more flexible you are, the more able you are to avoid injury. In turn, using the Yoga Trapeze will help alleviate back and neck pain (some of the most common ailments affecting our adult population today) while also helping to prevent future injury.

Lucas Rockwood, the Yoga Trapeze founder, explains it like this: “Your spine is just a like an accordion of vertebrae and disks, and the pain you experience is almost always the result of compression.”

How do I use it?

This is the fun part! Once the Yoga Trapeze is hung, it is ready for action! There are countless combinations of yoga poses, stretches, and exercises you can do with your trapeze.

The best part about the trapeze is that it’s completely beginner friendly, meaning you don’t need previous experience to try it. Begin with a very basic pose to get comfortable using the trapeze. Start by standing in front of the swing and holding onto the top handles to support yourself as you sit down.

Make sure your entire seat is supported by the trapeze, and then continue holding onto the handles (or upper part of the main swing – whichever feels and works best for your body) as you begin to lean back, allowing your head and neck to relax towards the ground.

Continue leaning back and bring your feet to wrap around the upper part of the main swing. Keep your feet engaged, and once you feel secure, you can release the grip of your hands and allow your arms to hang freely. Congratulations – you just completed your first pose on the Yoga Trapeze!! 🙂

Helpful tips

A handy pose chart that visually demonstrates several poses for you to try is included with your Yoga Trapeze purchase by YOGABODY Naturals (YBN). They also offer instructional videos like the one below on their site, so be sure to check those out for helpful pointers and visual guidance, which always helps in the learning process.

The main tip we can give you in regards to using this trapeze is to have fun! The more you practice, the more amazing things you’ll discover you can do. The best part is that while you’re having all this fun with your Yoga Trapeze, you’re also getting stronger and more flexible. You’ll see and feel the results fast, because this is a full body exercise.

Best Feature

With such an awesomely versatile product, narrowing it down to one key feature is a challenge . . . which is why we’ve divided it into best product feature and also best result feature. For the product itself, the best feature is that it can be hung from a variety of places to suit your specific needs, and also accommodate your specific housing circumstances.

You can hang the trapeze in a doorframe, over an exposed beam (as shown in the video), from a piece of gym equipment, or take it outside and hang it from a tree branch or swing set.

Using the Yoga Trapeze, the best feature in terms of results is in pain relief. Inversion tables take up a lot of space and are single purpose (meaning you won’t also be doing yoga or getting stronger abs!). Chiropractors, massages, and other therapeutic methods are costly, time consuming, and not always guaranteed to alleviate your pain. This at-home, do-it-yourself device doubles as a yoga prop and a therapeutic inversion device – and it actually works.

Quality

When you’re trusting a product to hang upside down from, that product better be built to last and made with quality! Luckily for those of us here at YouAligned who tested this trapeze for you, YBN has made a certifiably high-quality product. Made from the same material as parachutes, it has been weight tested up to 450 pounds and also comes with a 10-year unconditional warranty, so you know it’s built to last, and you can rest (or fly) assured knowing that it will keep you suspended safely.

In fact, YBN is so confident in the quality of their trapeze that they generously offer a 30-day risk-free trial for $1! Say what?! They will ship you a Yoga Trapeze to try for one month. You can return it any time during that month if you decide you don’t want it. If at the end you’ve become a Yoga Trapeze addict like we have, then they’ll bill the remaining $99.
